COPPER CARBONATE

In addition to treating Alkaline etchant, Alchema treat copper loaded acid waste produced by the Electronics industry.

This is treated using an in-house designed process to produce copper carbonate which is used mainly in the wood preservative industry.

Copper chloride waste is enriched using copper scrap to increase the yield of copper carbonate.

Alchema has developed an enrichment plant capable of taking a wide variety of copper scrap as a means of recycling and in anticipation of proposed legislation such as the WEEE directive.

The copper carbonate is marketed through Chemisphere from whom more information on product specifications and availablity can be obtained.

In addition, Alchema is keen to investigate of their environmental potential new sources of copper bearing waste/scrap for recycling as well as applications for the residual plastics as part of their overall environmental commitment.
